Old Japanese Hammering Tool

The photos above show an old hammering tool used on shears in Japan.
Of course, you can use an actual hammer, but it takes years of practice to use one directly; even then, it is not easy.

The cylindrical base is iron, and the hammer is brass. Therefore, the hammer does not damage the scissor blade, as brass is softer than stainless steel.
The advantage of this tool is that it can accurately hit the desired point on the blade. However, hitting the same desired spot could not always resolve the problem with the scissors.

The idea was good: a simple but practical sharpening tool, but it wasn't enough to do the job for high-end shears.
